    Ruger SR22

Why did the CA DOJ remove the SR22 from the approved handgun list? Does anyone know the reason. It was removed effective 7/26/2013 and only listed some regulation that needs an explaination.
    Thanks,

They didn't send in the annual $200 per model extortion fee. If you really want one just SSE it.

09rubicon - that isn't why it was pulled from the roster. Ruger made a change to the firearm after the firearm was submitted. The section being cited by the DOJ is California Code of Regulations, Title 11, section 4070, subsection (C)(2).

Are we sure about that? I know the other thread was discussing it but Ruger had announced no changes?

That was the exact section that was cited on the CA DROS screen and the message sent by the CA DOJ.

Now it's between the CA DOJ, the laboratory that certified the original firearm and Ruger. The SR22 certification expires in January of 2014 from what I remember.

It could have been a very small change that Ruger made, the CA DOJ is picky! Hell Ruger may have even made it safer...

You could still SSE it or find one lightly used.

According to Ruger they made a change in the slide. Ca doj says it must be retested Ruger doesn't seem to concerned with Ca. Since their email said they were going to continue to make and sell the SR22 everywhere else.

Can you blame them. CA DOJ testing is nothing more than a money scam.

I know it is but they have to look at their customers. I own four Rugers the SR22 would have been my fifth. That's about 40% of my inventory as much as I'd like an SR22 so I can take my niece and nephew to the range I can't support a company who turns their back on their customers.

What happens to those who already have one? Grandfathered in?

Grandfathered? The roster is for sale from an FFL, has nothing to do with your ability to own it. Go take a look at the roster and notice how many guns aren't on it(mostly because they just aren't made anymore, even though a lot haven't and never will appear on it).
