You can get a stock from Manners or McMillan that will have the proper inletting so that you can install that bottom metal yourself.
Most other stocks will need to have the bottom machined out until the botom metal will fit into place.

I do this kind of machining for anyone that might need it done.

Yes I do, thank you though. I'm sure that mistake gets made more often than people like to admit. I just purchased now since they were still $99 and that part is out of the way now.

Good plan.
Thumbhole stocks are very polarizing.
People either love them or hate them.
So many people don't realize this and buy them on looks alone, only to find out later that they much prefer shooting a more traditional target stock with a more vertical grip to it.

I much prefer my T4a's to any thumbhole stocks I have tried.

I have a thumb hole stock on my 10/22 that I like but I haven't shot anything with a more traditional target style grip. I'm hoping that when I'm ready to buy that MCS will let me come by their shop to try some different ones out, but that is probably a couple months out.

The T4a was my next choice if I don't like the T5a
