    FTE! 3 different guns!!!!!

Ok so I thought I was gonna have a great afternoon cause I was going shooting.... I was wrong!

I took 3 guns out to site them in out at my parents cause they have land to shoot on. I took a Ruger No. 1 204, Thompson contender 223, and a savage model 10 .308

First up I shoot the Thompson contender. It's a single shot break down gun. Put in my first bullet, FIRE! All is good up to this point! Break open the gun and the round is jammed! Can't get it out. We tried but I didn't want to scar up anything trying to get it out.

Well I figured I have two more guns don't sweat it... Next I grab the .204 load it up. It's also a single shot lever action. Took aim FIRE... All good again up to this point, I thought! When I opened the lever, bullet was jammed! I'm thinking NO WAY!! I was able to get the rounds out with a screw driver as they would eject about 3/8". Enough for me to get a screw driver on the shoulder of the round. I continued to shoot it 4 more times to site it in, and then gave up I don't want to damage anything using the screw driver!

At this point I'm frustrated! So we take the .308 out back and find a place to set up. Load up the bolt action take aim and first shot was FTF!!!
At this point I'm ready to throw something!

I walk away relax and come back. Reload the gun an shoot it again and FIRE!
Now I'm thinking my luck has finally turned for the better! I shoot six rounds through the girl and wouldn't you know it, gun is jammed! The bolt won't open! I pulled and pushed and turned and I could not open the bolt! So it's sitting with a spent round in the gun.

WTF?! Nobody's luck is that bad!! I thought maybe its the ammo, but they all used different brand ammo. The 204 I was using horandy and the 308 was herters steel and 223 was PMC bronze. Any thoughts as to what might be going on?

.308 hasn't been shot in about 1 1/2 years. .204 I have owned for 5 years and never shot and I dunno last time .223 was shot. But my parents have guns that have sat for years and collected dust in closets and shoot fine! Mine are oiled every few months in a climate controlled safe?! I just don't get it!

I guess I need to take them to someone and have them gone through... I dunno?

What kind of oil are you using.

    Please don't say WD40.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

And start carrying a cleaning rod long enough to push stuck cases out via the bore.

The odds of that happening are about one billion to one. I would clean the chambers and barrels really well. We also have to admit that the Contender and the Ruger No.1 are not the strongest extracting guns out there. Also we know that steel case ammo can be problematic.
If it was me, I would buy one box of premium (different) ammo for each gun and try again after cleaning.

When I got home that's how I got the spent case out of 223
Can't get bolt open to remove spent .308 though!

                Easy fix. Buy more guns.

Shooting an AK you consider it a badge of honor when your handguards burst into flames

Shooting an AR you consider it a badge of honor to shoot a sub moa 5 shot group

Shooing a Mosin you consider it a badge of honor to cycle 5 rounds without the aid of a 2x4

OP: clean your chambers, check for pitting or rust.

When you shot them did you still have oil in your chamber or was it dry?

The .308 still had oil on the bolt, but I don't think in the chamber...
204 yeah I think there was oil, and same with .223
