Yes I know there's an Appleseed forum but I don't know how many CalGunners are aware of Appleseed; plenty of information available online.
I have to give a huge thanks to the 5 Appleseed Instructors at this last weekend's 2 day marksmanship training at the Piru gun range; all the instructors are great guys, great Americans, and it was my privilege to be instructed by them for two days.
The revolutionary war education was great, and of course the rifle marksmanship training was fantastic. Due to my own poor skills I didn't earn a rifleman's patch, so I'll have to try again.
One of the Instructors I think noted that Appleseed was formed in North Carolina and spread to other midwestern and eastern states, naturally especially Texas. Initially the Texas Appleseed folks assumed there would be little interest in Kalifornia, but there's now more Appleseed Rifleman in Kali than in Texas; something I'm determined to achieve.
There were only 5 students so all of us got a lot of attention which was great.
I used one of my AR's but next time I might use a 22; a 22 seems to have faster target re-acquisition after shots.
