Sacramento Gun Shops closing?

I'm relatively new, so forgive me if this has been discussed. I recently went to purchase a new Beretta PX4 for my wife to use on the range. I already have one and love the firearm. When I went to the place I bought my first gun, Old Sac Armoury, it had closed. I went to a place up near Watt and Auburn. Also closed.

Have I missed some legislation in Sacramento County that makes it more impossible for gun stores in my county than for most stores in California? Fortunately I discovered a store in Placer County not far away that has great service and prices.

Had I known when I bought my house what I know now, I'd be living in Butte County or at least Placer and have a CCW...

Not sure exactly but I think Old Sac Armory closed 8-9 months ago (?). I remember some members here posting some great deals they got because of it.

Watt & Auburn was the old "Great Outdoors" and has been gone for a couple years at least.

They closed their brick and mortar store and moved up north and now only do internet sales.

Despite the closures of both stores, the Sacramento area does have a good selection of firearms shops.

River City Gun Exchange in Sacramento (south) on Fruitridge Road.
Wild Sports in Orangevale on Greenback Lane.

2 of them in sac closed I think, the auburn one and another on some other st Off Fulton ave.. they were expensive as hell.

Wild Sports is good, that's true. I went to Badger Johns, they did a good job and cut a reasonable deal. Okay, more my imagination than a problem. Thanks, everyone.

thats what it was, badger johns, are they still around?.. they wanted 125$ to DROS and tax!! which collecting tax from a out of state item is illegal!

Wild Bill's in Elk Grove is a good store also. Brandon has a lot of good stuff there. His prices are better than the Gun Room which is right across the street. He has a decent selection of knives and other accessories as well.

I loved old sac armory. I got to know it kind of late in the game, but by the time I was ready to make a buy... they were closing shop. I ended up with a littl glenfield for $50 and a marlin 983 22WMR for $70. Broke my heart to watch close up.

J&G in Granite Bay. Almost everything there is on consignment, so you can find some damn good deals, plus we get new inventory almost every day. And oh yeah, I'm a gunsmith there

One of my shooting buddies lives in Folsom and hadn't heard of your shop. We're always looking for new shops, especially with an in-house gunsmith.

It's on Barton Road, north of Douglas in Granite Bay. If you don't look for it you'll miss it. I believe it's next to what used to be a 40's/50's era service station.
