After dicks pulled all "assault weapons" from their inventory, I pulled them from my places to spend money. I will not support a store that turns against me. I would sooner spend money in a anti-gun store then at Dicks.

Consumers have the same freedom. I boycott businesses whose policies or practices offend me. I was looking at a gun safe at Dick's but now I am looking elsewhere. I'm staying in America but out of Dick's. Apparently they had already alienated some of their shooting customers; I was not aware of this.

I thought it was bad with the 5 box limit a few months back.

Yes they do. A one box limit on something isn't a reason I would boycott a business though. Personally, I laugh at all of you who are having trouble finding ammo. Obviously, you were unprepared or under prepared and now you are all complaining because businesses they have chosen to limit their sales. Hell, they could have chosen to just stop selling ammo all together. Would that have made y'all happier?

It was a sad day when Dicks replaced Chicks (in Upland).
Their newspaper ad always had fishing gear, so I went and they had no fishing gear. Years later, they were blowing out fishing gear because it wasn't selling, DUH!
They don't carry sports shirts/ jerseys 3x or up! Seems like they're missing a lot of sales opportunities with that policy.
I'm not sure if all Dicks are like Upland, and I will never know. Just shop elsewhere.

I am not a prepper and bought my first gun in January so I did not have a stockpile laid in. Since then I have purchased a couple more and am just trying to get some ammo to go to the range and shoot. I have several other options besides a store that make it difficult to do business with them.

Call the number for Dick's above and voice your opinions, if you care. I did that today. Be nice and respectful and let them know how you feel. I think their employees are not happy with this new policy.

                  I miss Chicks.

All the Dicks stores around here don't carry anything gun related. Not sure if any of the so cal stores have ammo.

How can somebody not be offended by what Dick did to gun owners. Not only did they pulled "assault weapons" from inventory, they cancelled all transactions.

I never have and never will step on Dick's

I spent close to $2000 on gun and baseball related stuff at the local Dick's in the year before they blamed law abiding AR15 owners for murdering children at Sandy Hook. I have not been inside the store since they showed their true colors. Any gun owner that shops at Dick's is NOT on our side. If you support so-called "gun stores" with policies like Dick's, you are supporting the enemy.

My life may not be worth the mere firearms, but should it ever really come down to it, my life is worth the freedom. The only reason you and I have the freedom we have is because someone else put their life on the line, knowing that it's not just about the guns.

Prepping doesn't have anything to do with being prepared for market shortages due to an influx of new gun owners. The '08-'09 shortage was a prime example of what will happen when the unarmed masses realize that they are just victims waiting to be victimized. Anyway, I really hate to break it to you but, people like you (the first time gun owner who waited until a panic to buy a gun) are the main reason that stores are having problems keeping stock on their shelves. Since Sandy Hook, I've purchased 1 box of 333 rounds of .22lr and 3 cases of 12g. But, I've given away thousands of rounds of .22lr and let friends and strangers shoot probably another 300-1000 rounds of centerfire ammo, up to and including 50BMG, at the range. I've got another couple of years worth of ammo to go before I feel the pinch. So, don't blame old gun owners who stockpile ammo or retail outlets for your problem. Blame yourself and those like you for the problem. Sorry, that's just the truth. I don't have anything against you personally. Hell, what is your general location? Maybe I can help you procure some ammo.
