    Gun Cleaner Recommendations

Hey guys, I've been using Gunslick Ultra-Klenz (aerosol and liquid) to clean my guns. I like the aerosol to spray down barrels and the liquid to soak and wet my patches.

Is there any other better gun cleaners you guys can recommend? Ideally, it cleans like a break cleaner (i.e. spray down the metal) but is still safe for my hands and polymer. I don't really like oily cleaners like CLP; I feel that it just makes a mess.

I also noticed Ultra-Klenz seems to leave weird white residue on my Glock slide. I never had this issue with my Kimber finish. Anyone else noticed this?

    Thanks!

Kano (makers of kroil) makes an amazing product- it's a residual black solvent that's called "penephite"

It's amazing. a little brushing it removes copper. A little rubbing it removes lead, powder and plastic wad fouling. And it leaves a nice protective film behind that smells like paint thinner and gasoline.

I tried putting it in a needle dropper bottle and it totally dissolved the rubber o ring on the lid. But it's a lubricant- so win-win.

I use Hoppes #9 to clean everything and then I oil with BreakFree CLP. Cheap and effective. I'm open to trying out new gun lube like Militec1 or Slip2000 once I run out of my current bottle of CLP.

I've used M-Pro 7 bore gel and to me it didn't feel seem like my barrel got any cleaner or was quicker than Hoppes #9 so I'm sticking with what worked for me.

Can't go wrong with Hoppes #9 and CLP.

          Wipe-out/Sweets 7.62/Tetra-Gun products/Blue Wonder/Shooters Choice/RIG grease/Militec1/Inhibitor are all good and better than #9 or CLP

Question, I have been using hoppes 9 bore cleaner, should I purchase a copper cleaner too?

If copper fouling is becoming enough of a problem for you that you need to remove it, yes.

I use a combo of ATF fluid and Seafoam fuel additive. Liquid wrench at times also.

I like to use hoppes on my barrel patches, and G96 on all other parts. As you stated, the CLP products get messy, so I have a Rubbermaid tote I put the parts into and hose em down.
