Military surplus rounds in Southern California.

Hello Everyone, i am brand new to these forums so i apologize if this is in the wrong place.

I am currently looking into purchasing a Mosin Nagant Rifle, but i am wondering if the military surplus rounds are legal to own in California? I have looked at the laws regarding the purchase of ammunition, but don't see anything limiting this, however i do know some ranges wont allow you to shoot it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

They are legal to purchase and own, the difficult part is finding a place where they are allowed to be shot, as you said.

Privi and I think Remington make range friendly ammo for Mosin. Problem is cheapest I've found is 15.99 for 20 rounds. I grab surplus and just hit the desert. Mosin is fun!
