I have a rifle I would like to sell on the forum but I'm not sure what its worth, now if I post the type of rifle and ask what its worth I will get in trouble for trying to sell it in the wrong forum, so what is the proper way to get a value of a rifle? Thank you in advanced

Gun pricing question

Look around online and see what they've sold for recently(completed auctions on gunbroker would be a good example).
Unless it's something rare, a collector piece, or something just rarely ever seen for sale in recent months, you should be able to figure out how much it's worth(rather, what people are willing to pay for something like yours) in a matter of minutes without needing any sort of appraisal.
If it doesn't sell at your set price within the timeframe you want to sell it, lower the price. -
