    Msa sordin supreme earmuffs

Just curious as to your guys experience with these earmuffs I know all the whos who wear em but right now I wear the peltor tactical electronic earmuffs and while they work great they are a little tight on my big head and I find they get uncomfortable after a while. so im looking to upgrade and wanted to see if yall think its worth it. Thanks

Get the behind the head type. The over the head band is too short.

I have them with the gel pads and they are awesome! Wore them all day for four days straight, I think I would've had a headache if I had done that with any of my other muffs...

^ both those guys are correct. VERY comfy with the gel pad (add the cloth covers for sweaty months), but the over the head strap is a bit too short for my melon. Even another 1/4" would help.

MSA Sordins are really comfortable. Can wear them all day and not feel any discomfort. The sound quality is first rate. Used to wear Peltors, they stopped working after a rain. After a day of shooting they hurt. Spent the money on Sordin and since have seen at least four friends buy them. My big head has no problem with the over the head strap.

The MSA with the gel cups are super comfy and you can have them on for hours.

Very comfortable with the gel inserts. Good attenuation. Don't have the same clipping effect I've found with most other electronic hearing protection.

                Gel cups... yes.

There have been comments that the noise reduction could be better. I would have to use a different brand to compare, but would tend to agree that the NRR could be higher.

Also, getting the batteries out is......well........ just odd. You have to bang it against your hand to cause them to pop out enough to fall out. Just doesn't feel right having to do that.

The Sordins are the most comfortable muffs I own. And I own dam near every high end muff available.

Their NR rating is low. If I wear then at a indoor range. I double up with 3M ear plugs.

The behind the neck system is better than the over the head system. Especially if you wear hats, caps or helmets.

The Howard Leight R-01526 Impact Sport muffs work extremely well for about 1/6th the cost.

The major difference is this. If I have to wear muffs more than 2-3 hours at a stretch. I wear the Sordins. Period. End of story.

Every thing else I wear the Leight's or my Walker Game ears. (The Walkers are very very good)

                  Thats my .02 worth.

I use NRR 32 ear plugs + MSA Sordin with Gel pads. The longest I've worn them is 9 hours in a day. The neckband version is rated one NRR better than the headband version.
