i bought a AR 500 steel target in 3/8 thick plate. they also make it in 1/2 inch. i bought the 3/8 so it would not be to heavy to carry . very happy. last time out i bought some scrap yard 1/4 inch plate. Mosin 7.62-54r went right threw it. also SKS 7.62-39 went threw it. this time at 100 yards steel core surrplus mosin 7.62-54r just splattered and left a very small imprint on the plate.

You have to like AR500. It is tuff.
I have a piece that is 1.5" thick and it is very heavy. The mosin ammo barely knocks off the rust. Same with 30-06. As long as it is not firmly anchored the 50BMG does not penetrate but does gouge it and move that heavy thing up the hill several feet at 100 yards.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Industrial Metal Supply sells precut AR500 targets in various sizes now. They had a whole display of them at the store in Kearny Mesa last time I was in there."Freedom begins with an act of defiance"

NICE! I asked them some time ago if they carried it and was told no.
I think I'll go have a look when I get off, thanks. I work close enough I could probably ring a gong from here after a few test shots.

I think they had AR 300 as well if you're only shooting smaller calibers."Freedom begins with an act of defiance"

I have a couple 12" rounds made of AR500. I have found it best/cheapest to hang em using wooden sawhorses, chain and S hooks. When I'm shooting at these with pistol calliber lever guns at over 100 yards, I tend to tear #### up
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

You forgot the giant pink pig.
