    Missing paperwork

Bought a pistol from a store about 9-10 months ago. Picked it up, no issues.

Store calls me up today and wants me to come down because the paperwork is incomplete. Missing the safe handling certification paper.

In any way, am I obligated to go back and do the paperwork they missed when I picked it up?

    Update in post #19.

Just go down and perform the safe handling demo and let them close the books on that sale.

Don't go back and tell them good luck in their future endeavors. I believe you are in the clear, what they want is only for their records.

Were they nice or butt heads?

I'd be prone to go do the test with their gun just to be nice and build goodwill with the shop.

If you get paid hourly, charge the for travel time both directions, if on salary, charge them the equivalent of 1/2 a days pay. Ammo works too!

If they balk, tell the their fault, not your problem...buh-bye!
                            Sorry, not sorry.

They missed part of the transfer, it happens. Quit being a butt head and drop by and do the paperwork.
