    Shipping ammo?

Next weak I am flying to Texas, for a reunion. My family said their is no shortage of ammo. So can I buy it and ship it to my self? Can the gun store ship it to me? Thanks for any help or info..

Who are you flying with? I don't know about shipping rules but I was able to bring back 11 lbs of ammo for myself and 11 lbs for my wife by checking it in our baggage with Southwest. That may be an option to get an additional bit of ammo back to CA with you for free.

I am flying southwest, but I thought you could not take ammo on a plane? Was it locked up?

Hell just drive out there and load up on ammo and drive back.

Ship it UPS ground. Take it to the UPS hub (usually at the airport) and ship it there. It will ship ORM-D which is hazmat, but with the lowest restrictions.

The IATA convention allows a maximum of 5 kilos of ammo per passenger. It does not have to be declared.

You can take it as checked baggage. If I'm flying someplace to hunt, I just stick it in my duffel with clothes and other junk.

5 kilos is about 11 lbs. A case of 9mm is about 25-30 lbs. I'd ship it.

Ship half. Bring the other half back on the plane for free. Shipping companies charge by the pound.

Just got back from Texas, and wanted to give everyone an update. Their is no ammo, pistol, or rifle shortage in Lubbock Texas. Holy crap! They had so much stuff i was in paradise! On my uncle's property we went coyote and hog hunting every night, bought more ammo every day.

I did not ship any ammo home, but was told I could ship ammo with no problem at the main ups hub. I just had to box everything up and have it ready. I ran out of time being with the family. I did buy a few 30 round and 20 round ar mags, which again they had a crap load!!!

Greatest thing they had "TANNERITE" exploding targets. Buy this stuff over the counter, which they had a hole section. Set it up and shoot at it. When hit it explodes! Coolest thing ever.
