16" barrel too short for 6.8?

Looking for an upper and I see Rock River two uppers but they are both 16". I want a short to mid range pig hunter, so 80-150 yards (200 max. with the terrain I am facing), flat top with an optic (TBD later) and the ability to mount an AFG. Not sure a full quad rail would be necessary but not opposed to that route either.

Keep looking or just grab the Rock River? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
    mike

If your looking for a bit of a longer barrel palmetto has a 18" upper in stock
clicky clicky I remember reading the 6.8 was designed with a 16" barrel in mind but I could be wrong.

For the ranges you are talking about a 16" barrel will work fine. Most all of the testing and ballistics for the 6.8 was performed on 16' barrels.

"In tests, it was determined that a 6.5mm barrel had the best accuracy, but a 7mm barrel had the best terminal performance. Further tests showed that a 6.8mm barrel was the best compromise between the two, providing accuracy, reliability and terminal performance up to 500 meters."

oh, didn't know that the 6.8 was designed for 16" barrel.

Guess Rock River is the one then...unless someone has another suggestion(s)?

Wilson Combat. I had the light tactical barrel and that barrel was a shooter. Get the best barrel you can afford.
