Ooooh.
Tell you what, once I get power run in my garage, and space cleared out for my mill and lathe, a new production 91/30 is very high on my list of projects to build.NRA Life Member

There was a thread about the new 91/30 sports hunting rifle with no bayonet or lug.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

Molot probably. They are importing old M44's as 'new sporting rifles' right now direct from Russia.
I have one. I bet they are making new 91/30's if anyone is.Comment

The 91/30 never had a bayonet lug either. The bayonet is a separate item that slips over the barrel like an 19th century musket. Its about the same weight and length too.
About the same height as my wife.... When you shoulder it indoors you have to watch out you don't stick the ceiling.Last edited by SanPedroShooter; 07-06-2013, 9:40 PM.Comment

Hm.
That looks like a round receiver 91/30 in a refinished late war stock with an after market MIM or (best case) cast aluminum stock.NRA Life Member

I think they are using surplus and new parts to make 'new' rifles.
The M44 I have has new laser etching under the handguards and a little Molot stamp on the receiver tang and bolt, but in all other respects is a re arsenal M44.
Its imported direct from Russia as a 'new sporting rifle' to get around the import ban.
Molot must have access to a good chunk of government surplus.Comment

Im sorry did that say $899.00 or $89.90. It had to be a typo, right?I support peace through superior firepower.

i wonder if these "new" mosin's are made from the few million surplus russian arms they were suppose to "demolish" starting 2012 till 2016?
