Hawaiian gun safe: take a broken the fridgerator drill out some holes in the back for ventilation , clean it out. install a strong padlock and hasp. cut the electrical cord and such a way that you could even plug it in without having a fire hazard. maybe a sign over the padlock that says" squid for fish bait". this saves you from having to have a heavy safe shipped over from the mainland if you're on a budget.

why are the white colored wild goats not usually shot in Hawaii?...
a few white goats allows the whole heard to be more easily spotted in the thick groundcover.

those pull string type legal light fireworks make good inexpensive (door, window, whatever) alarm sensors. first scares them ( legally ) and most people don't have a replacement one with them.

Always buy a $1000 rifle then put a $39 scope on it and be sure to use see-thru rings.
Pay $8000 for a guided hunt, $1000 airfare and $600 in new equipment. Then buy the cheapest ammo you can find to "save money".
If you cannot hit the animal with a 308win then go out and buy the hardest kicking mag you can find so they die faster.
Carry 100 rounds of ammo on you for a deer hunt where you are allowed 1 deer. Then forget your knife.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Here is another old tip -
you can sharpen a knife on the bottom of a ceramic coffee mug. Try it out when you're least expensive
( non serrated.) knife. It works okay. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to do it exactly.

Lately when I see an wild animal - crow, turkey, peacock and I use my smartphone to pull up a video of the same animal calling it gets a reaction out of most of them.

Starting a forest fire is a great way to flush out game.
