    Long Gun Storage

Tried searching, but can not find an answer. Can I store a long gun at a family members house?
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks.-Thomas Jefferson

Presuming no one in that relative's household is a prohibited person, probably.

A couple of factors influence the answer.

For example, if the long gun were a 'registered assault weapon', then no.

If the storage were temporary, under 30 days, then certainly; could easily be a temporary loan.

If it's for a period of years, as you are going out of the state or the country, at the moment there is no paperwork required to transfer a long gun to a father/mother, grandfather/mother, son/daughter. Do that in 2014, requires what I expect to be a new version of the OPLAW form. Other relatives, however, should receive the gun via PPT for an over-30-day storage.

So far as I am aware, no resources are being expended to try to detect loans of over 30 days.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Unless it is a RAW you are fine. I would just not tell the world about it myself.
