Long term gun storage options

So if I was going overseas for 5+ years, what would be the best way to store handguns?

I was thinking coating the handguns with the RIG Gun grease or cover with Vapor paper from Brownells, put it in a VCI gun bag and store it in an aluminum briefcase. Perhaps throw in a few silica packets in there for good measure.

Would coating the pistols with RIG grease or covering with the Vapor paper be better? Or do both?

Since I'll be putting the pistols in a VCI gun bag, would it matter if I put it in an aluminum briefcase (samsonite) or would a small gun safe be better?

Depends how many you have. It might be easier to just sell them.

I will come out and say that negolien is a troll or an anti.

Neonbaloon, your grease and VCI bag idea is good to go, lock them in a safe after that and they will stay forever.

Poly-Bags and no grease. I have had 2 pistols in them for 7 years so far and all good. If you put grease on then the VCI cannot do its job.

Oh good point, I did not think of that, I was going to do both to be safe but I will just wrap the pistols with the gunwrap paper and put it in the gun bag. What do you think about these?
