NRA + Cheaper Then Dirt? Huh?

In the July NRA Magazine, "America's 1st Freedom" Wayne LaPierre stated, "Cheaper Then Dirt! is truly a partner when it comes to making sure the NRA has the resources it needs to get the job done."
    Uhm, what?
I thought the gun community has blacklisted them.
Since they started their business, they've inflated their high-demand items to obnoxious levels.
Only people who are EXTREMELY desperate buy anything from them.
    December - March:
    $90 for a PMAG
    $1000 for .223
I don't even have to mention any of the examples of their price gouging and business practices.
I know that many bash the NRA but like it or not, they are our biggest front runner. The NSSF doesn't have the brand name recognition.
The NRA really dropped the ball on this one.

While you state that you thought the community has blacklisted them, you forget that we still have our weekly CTD sucks threads, where someone finally comes to the realization that CTD's pricing and/or policies suck.

Then you also have to consider that not every gun owner is a part of the "online community"

CTD is still in business with those prices, because they still have customers.

I say write the NRA and state what we have all seen during this recent panic and the panic in '08, desrt2.

Ed-u-ma-cate fellow gun owners on why we should boycott them.

Brownells and Midway, as well as, many other smaller companies have seen fit not to rape faithful customers during this time, please also bring attention to that side of the story too.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

        Right.
        Not rocket surgery.
I brought this up because I saw this in the NRA magazine and couldn't believe they would do this.

Brownell's is awesome. My favorite source.
I probably have a package on my door twice a week from them and they are always quick. I don't think I've waited more than 1 week in all of the purchases I've had with them.
One is waiting for me this afternoon.
They are the largest, one of the oldest and most reliable gun parts/equipment sources.
Not so much Midway for me. They don't seem to have what I am looking for usually.

I can believe it. It's a promotion for CTD, ie. advertising. If not paid for as an actual advertisement, it's from CTD handing the NRA money in general.

Wayne's probably giving CTD props for donating $500,000 a month ago. CTD also actively recruits for the NRA. So think of their high prices as having a NRA donation factored in.

The $500K was damage control but that's about $4 billion short of forgiveness.

Nra runs on cash. cTD has cash. CTD gives cash to NRA. Gun owners win while gun consumer loses.
I would never make another purchase at CTD but many do. At least they give money to the NRA. It makes up for all those that complain and arent NRAmembers which is ridiculous.

                    look, CTD is a business

their goal is to MAKE MONEY

their choices are to sell out, thereby making much less money for a while

or jack their prices up for the people that are willing to pay them

if you don't like the way they do business, don't support them

but please don't cut off our allies at the knees

there are anti-gun businesses out there that deserve your true ire; direct it at them

like Bloomberg telling the fundraisers not to fund Democrats, he's just isolating his allies.

let's not make the same mistake

(CTD's shipping is too pricey IMO)

NRA advertises third party credit cards, insurance of dubious worth, collectible firearms of dubious value, potions pills and nostrums for ones willy and any other good or service willing to pay.

I don't remember if Brownell's has it, but Midway has an option to "round-up" your purchase to send money to the NRA-ILA when you check out. Plus I think they donate to the NRA themselves as well. I think all of the online retailers donate the NRA to some extent. If not on behalf of the business, at least on the individual's behalf.

                          That's about it.
Nobody said you have to buy.
Now, I have purchased from them recently because they have LOWER prices on some things.
So wtf you dillweeds are talking about I have no idea.
Midway has shown me high prices. Cabelas has shown me high prices. I shop around, and get the lowest price. Sometimes it's CTD, sometimes Bass Pro, sometimes Lucky, sometimes Ammo2Go, et alia.
And they all donate to NRA. NRA has a bunch of money raising things.
All of which are voluntary to you dillweeds, so if you don't like it, don't do it. And stop the ridiculous whining. It makes you seem like a child.
