sorry if this thread already exists but I'm looking for a place/web site to get custom engraved grips for a 1911. I'm looking to get a scripture not just a few letters engraved.

It's going to depend on what material you want (aluminum, wood, fake or real ivory, silver, something else), and what service that company provides.

You're probably going to have the best luck with laser engraving, because all the engraver needs is the computer vector file or at least what text you want engraved.

You may have to purchase your grips and have the engraving done separately. You're definitely going to want to consult with the engraver to ensure that you purchase grips with enough real estate to fit what you want engraved.
