Question on resale of a Rugar

Sorry if this is not the place to post this, reading the rules in the sale section I was not sure I could there so here goes.

    I have an unfired Ruger SR40 BSR40-10L. I purchased this November 2012.
I have as well 4 Ruger 10 round mags, 5 azoom snap caps and a cleaning kit including orignal box ruger came in and carry cases. 150 rounds of standard S&W (American Eagle, FIOCCAI)

Before I put it in the forsale, or bring it to my local gun shop just curious what it may bring or is worth?

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR OFFERS DO NOT PM ME FOR ANY REASON.... I AM JUST LOOKING TO SEE WHAT IT IS WORTH.

If I have breached any protocol here with this I apologies and mods please delete or instruct.

Looking at gunbroker new pistol is about $375-410. Curious why you never shot or don't want. I've got the SR9 & SR9c and like both, may add a SR40c to the collection.

The idea of gunbroker is ok, but would that not be like selling through say a 2nd person like a used car lot? Meaning they give you cheap trade in and sell high end? I don't know I have never sold any of my guns.

Wheels, to answer your question, I do not have to sell, I am curious as to what it all would bring, I have an idea in my head I wanted mainly to make sure I was in the ball park. I have another 175 HP 2 wheel toy that needs a little love so I am just testing the waters.

No that's not how it works. Gunbroker is an auction site like EBay.

The problem with using Gunbroker for handguns is the shipping cost. Handguns must be shipped overnight by FedEx or UPS (only dealers can use USPO) and that's going to cost $75 to $100. I'd plan on selling it locally; either by consigning it at a local dealer (easy, but costs you the commission) or by selling on Calguns (more hassle, but no commission).
Check back later for a witty comment.

Op no offence but do you own research! Ask your self what does the gun cost new how many owners how many do rounds fired?

Ah gotcha - unless the gun is rare or hard to find (or non roster in CA) I figure add up what everything cost you and deduct 10-20% depending on how fast you want to sell. I personally probably wouldn't buy something used if it was available new unless it was a substantial savings off the retail, especially regarding a gun (maybe that's just me).

I use gunbroker as a baseline for prices on a common item like your SR40 because many of the items for sale are from FFL's, some of which are low overhead so you can get a reasonable swag on what an item really retails for. The other posters are correct about the shipping issues etc. Gunbroker is just another data point.

You're not even close, unless you're shipping it north of the arctic circle. It's more like 20 or 30 bucks, which about the same as what the sales tax would be.

He wants to know what the going prices are, and Gunbroker shows what people are willing to bid.

I hate these sales threads disguised as a question. Could have found the value with far fewer key strokes than your post.
But hold on, I'll have a fairly accurate value in about 30 seconds....dog's working on it.

Overnight for $20 or $30? It cost me $85 when I shipped a revolver a couple months back.

You can just go by what calgunners generally do, price it 25-50% above what you can get for it at Turners. Then do multiple bumps and price drops until it is a "screaming deal" at the same price as Turners. Then threaten to put it back in the (non existent) safe. Bonus points if you bump it more than 1 time a day without mods noticing or do bump deletes or if you have your friends or family or use multiple accounts to get early bumps. Sweet deal! Wish I had the cash! Wish you were up north!

It's worth $20 less than you paid for it unless you paid way too much.
