San Leandro Davis Street Range question

I guess I could just wait and call later when they open, but does anyone know about the outdoor 50 yard range at the San Leandro Davis Street range can you shoot FMJ? I know on their site, FMJ is a big NO on the 100 yard range probably due to the Oakland airport. But what about the 50 yard lane?

I'll assume you can shoot 5.56 on the 50 yard? Also is it only 50 yards, or can you set up at shorter distances like 25 yards on the 50 yard lane?

    thanks in advance!

I believe the rule is no FMJ rifle rounds on the outside lanes.

I haven't shot a Davis Street for some time, but I used to go there once or twice a week. When I was going there --
      1. FMJ was okay on the 50 yard range.

      2. The 50 yard range has target hangers at 50, 25 and 12 yards.

      3. I don't know if 5.56 rifles are okay on the 50 yard range.

No FMJ allowed at all outside. They check your ammo. Last time I was there they turned away a rather large group that had AR's and AR pistols because they had Tula FMJ. Said it was because of the airport.

Pistol calibers only (below .460) on non-bench stations.

All benches are rifle caliber only (no shotgun or pistol) no FMJ (soft point or hollow point only).

Shotgun on non-bench only allows 2.75 non-magnum slugs.

No targets with eyes and ears.

Im the young rangemaster at San leandro range, to answer all questions having to do with ammo, here are all our restrictions; no fmj or steel core ammo allowed on the 100 yard range, no center fire rifles on the 50yard line only on the 100 yard range, magnum pistols calibers .44 and above are allowed on the 100 yard range if you have a scope on your gun or is in a rifle platform(lever action)/all magnum handguns are allowed on the 50 yard line, 17 HMR and .30 carbine are the only calibers that can be shot on both the 50 yard and 100 yard ranges, if shooting shotguns you must shoot lead slugs only on the outdoor 50 yard lanes, all basic handgun calibers are allowed in the indoor range (.25,.32,.380,9mm,40,45,44 special, 38 special, 22 magnum is the only magnum round allowed inside. 10mm, 5.7fn and all basic handgun caliber carbines can only be shot on the outdoor 12,25,50 yard ranges(outdoor pistol lanes)
I know its a lot of stuff, however only take from this what applies to you, If there are any other questions I will be more than happy to answer them.

Does Davis allow Wolf/Tula hollow points? They have steel cases, but I'm not sure if they are steel core or not.

No FMJ (including brass), no steel core, no steel cased ammo (Tula/Wolf/etc.), and no tracers. They only allow brass, non-magnetic hollowpoints.

we do allow steel cased ammo, the bullet just cant be steel core (tula, wolf, brown bear, silver bear) there are some exceptions, these companies could have a match round that is not steel core.
again the case does not matter only the round itself, however it still needs to be soft point or hollow point.
