I would say its worth it. A Gen 2 17 will run you around $400 plus DROS. Also you could pick up a Lonewolf frame and build a pretty sick pistol:

Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

Sounds decent.... depending on how used it is. If its in good condition, I would go for it and attempt to get a lone wolf frame or buy a Glock one on gun broker.

        Veryyyyyyyy Interesting ..............

        Thanks for the link

Of course I'll have to haggle the price a bit
        But
It might be a fun project

Would there be a problem with different serial numbers on frame and slide if at some point I decide to sell it ??

NOPE. the only number that anybody cares about while transferring the gun is the frame.

For example, I have a Glock and I shoot out the barrel, replace it and now it's different.. no problem.. Frame is where its all at.

Those Lone Wolf frames look ugly as ****.

But anyways, I'd haggle a bit and buy it. I say $150 is pretty good.

If you have a Glock 34 and wants a shorter upper- yes

If you have a g17 or 34 and want to mill the slide to melt in an RMR and want to option to switch back to factory - yes

Used LEO glocks were in the $349 range pre panic.

Unless u want to build a project gun with an aftermarket frame
                  I don't see the need

                        Here's the update ::

I bought the whole thing !! Glock 17
The complete slide with barrel and the Parts kit mag
and all the parts I could strip out of the broken original frame
( It Did get ran over and broke off the trigger gaurd and part of the mag well on the bottom)
The mag was Not in it when it happened , So it's fine

Now I just need to find a new frame ( Gen II or III )
Anybody know of a good place to look to find a stripped frame ?

Glockmeister sells frames. Pretty sure they're all OOS right now though.

Been doing my homework and have found a few on Gunbroker

                            That might work out

I tried to do what you are now attempting and ended up giving up.

Realize you cannot transfer just a frame into CA as a delaer sale. You need to transfer a complete handgun which is on the CA roster of safe firearms. In order to do that you will need to be willing to ship your complete slide to the seller and you will need to find a seller who is willing to assemble the pistol prior to shipping it to your selected FFL.

Now, if you can find someone in CA willing to sell/transfer just the frame you would be good to go.
