online gun auctions?

I'm aware of 2 online gun auction sites: Gunbroker.com and Auction Arms.

Anyone have experience with either as buyer or seller?

I'm just trying to decide which is more pleasant to use or which is more effective
as a selling tool for the little guy who just wants to sell a few items?

Any comments on either would be appreciated.

I bought my wifes 92fs from gunbroker. Had no problems at all.

Tried both, still use GB. GB has a lot more traffic and therefore sellers get better prices IMHO. AA is still struggling. I had a very blatant case of fraud from another seller (seller's employee running up the bid) that was reported to AA and they did absolutely nothing about it. Even with hard evidence being presented. They didn't even send a basic warning to the perp or cancellation of the bogus account that was involved with the fraud. That was it for me and AA.

I have sold guns and misc. items on GB and have purchased a gun and misc. items from GB with no issues. Just like anywhere, check feedback and buyer beware. No experience with AA.

Great experiance on Gun Broker. Bought my SOCOM 16 from a Gun Store in Was. High Mountain Hunting Supply. No problem transfering to CA. And saved $600 from ther prices of CA gun stores. Gun Broker website was smooth!

I have used both sites to buy/sell several times with absolutely no problems. But, much like Hunter stated above, I would recommend Gunbroker over AA due to greater exposure to potential buyers-- it is a larger and more well-known site. I'm not sure how their listing/selling fees compare (haven't been to either site recently).

I've bought and sold items on GunBroker. I've had nothing but great experiences with GB. My only gripe is that there is no wide spread online pay service such as PayPal that is "gun friendly."

Having to get postal money orders and waiting for that extra transit time for payment is murder.

I have not bought or sold a firearm on GB though. I'm curious as to how easy or hard is it to deal with the seller/buyer and the FFL's...

Like any auction site, look at feedback and look at some of their other auctions if you can, see who is bidding if you can...
If something doesnt seem right, dont bid, if something looks fradulent, report it.

I ve bought sutff on GB before, and bought my Glock out of auction from a GB seller, no problems either way, but you have to becareful always

I've bought five handguns off of GunBroker. So far, no problems.

My only recommendation is to make sure you have your local FFL lined up and ready to receive the gun. You also will want to make sure you know what charges they are going to hit you with. Many FFLs are now adding $55-80 onto the DROS fee. That can have a big impact on the "deal" you are getting from buying online.

And as with any online auction, have a fair idea of the reliability of the seller (i.e. good feedback rating), or don't bid more than you are willing to lose in case the deal were to go bad.

Gun broker is a great site. The only thing is that you have to watch the individual sellers, its kinda like ebay, check feedback and you shouldn't have any problems. I've purchased 1 gun from gunbroker.com and it was a smooth transaction!

last 2 handgun purchases, i found through gunsamerica.com and gun broker.

i called each dealer. he said, no need for auction. so i gave them my CC info and then it arrived at my FFL a few days later.

great prices too...
