    Water Transfer ???

Anyone do a water transfer on their gun?

I just talked to a place about getting my AR done after I finish it. They said $280 for the stock, upper, lower, and rail in multicam and about 1 - 1.5wk turnaround.

    Experience or opinions?

    What is a water transfer?
My life may not be worth the mere firearms, but should it ever really come down to it, my life is worth the freedom. The only reason you and I have the freedom we have is because someone else put their life on the line, knowing that it's not just about the guns.
No one is free until everyone is free. If you champion your own rights, but won't stand up for the rights of others, you're no better than those who wish to take our rights away.

3 or 4 cans of Krylon a youtube video, and about $20.00.

I think it's similar to how mugs and plates get images transferred on. I wonder how durable it would be on an AR.

Here's a picture I found in recoil magazine. I wanted to do something similar for my girlfriends build but never got around to doing it.

I don't know exactly how it works. They put a print on top of water then pull the gun or whatever through it and whatever they use makes the image bond to the gun/part. They say its as durable has a cars finish.

I've seen people do it to engine valve covers and it looks good and is apparently strong.

$280 is a bit steep for a paint job.

Pretty easy to do, I use duracoat as a base on guns.

Hydro looks great but it is a bit slippery.

I have heard of folks hydro dipping and then using a clear Duracote to help the transfer last longer for non safe queen toys.

Interesting. I guess I sorta see the appeal, though I like my rifles to be devoid of flashy foofoo stuff.. Just extra black and extra scary
