Yes, but there are better options, IMO.

Imagine that, lubricate contact points and keep it out of the mechanicals except at pivot points....

            Who would have ever guessed?

Yeah, but when your customers aren't very bright it helps to make as simple of a guide as possible.

In my experience, nothing is common knowledge.

At the rental shop, we had a new guy who supposedly had a lot of experience with Glocks, who upon getting a complaint about a malfunctioning Glock from a customer, went and drenched the thing in CLP. He then went and drenched all the rest of the Glocks in CLP. The things were practically dripping when he put them back, and we made him clean the whole mess up when we found out.

Wonder if they were getting tired of doofuses complaining of light strikes after filling their FP channel with Frog Lube.

                            This is likely the case.

Personally, I like a lot more lubrication than that.

I've argued the point with friends that say that dirt/grime get caught up in the excess lube and will cause the gun to jam.

I'd argue that muddy gobbly gook lubrication is better than the lube drying out and running a dry gun - dirt/grime notwithstanding.

I was taught to put extra lube on any area that shows wear because that is exactly where it's needed.

Either a lot of liquid lubricate or a tiny bit of grease. Sometimes a bit of both, but overly wet over dry IMO.

Every 500 rounds add lube for pistol.
