Long Gun Boxes

I tend to save the box that my long guns, shotguns, bb guns, etc. come in and I am now having some storage issues. I was wondering what you guys do with the boxes. Do you keep them for future sale or worth? Do you toss them out when you get your new weapon home?

I would toss them if I didn't think that they would be good for something.

What say you?

My attic is full of dust covered gun boxes.

Prob good to have if you resale or something. I gave all my rifle to kids this year so I just hacked off any info off the box and chucked it but keeping the foam for my bench which I put under a towel. Stick them in garage rafters?

I keep the box till I shoot the rifle or pistol. after I am sure its working fine I throw away the box. To me an original box is only good for a firearm that's never been shot or a collectable.

Why not cut the tape and flatten the cardboard? Save a lot of space and still keep the box intact, since you could tape it back together if you wanted to?

Attic- Some people have moisture problems in their attic. Even in dry hot parts of socal.... depends on the number and size of the vents in the attic.

I save the plastic pistol boxes. Not long gun boxes.

I fill my truck bed full & have bales made from them...I recycle them. No, I don't have the room, but I save pistol boxes.

I have no choice but to keep most boxes.

Here is my Titan's bed full of about $100k in full and semi autos during a move last weekend. The other truck was more heavily loaded.

Looks like a good problem to have

I have just been throwing them in under the house, its dry down there, but they do take up a lot of room. I think I will try breaking them down and see if that helps. None of them will ever be part of a collector type status, however, I like to look at the price tags, etc on old gun boxes when I get them.

I bought an AR7 Survival still in the box with a JC Penny price tag on it. I love that kind of stuff
