There -is- a forum for safe discussions...

And you might find this thread in that forum useful to you.

The critical variables are the age of your dwelling, the kind of construction, and the rated floor loading.

I just put an American Security 5924 in my upstairs apartment, it weighs in at 352lbs but I've easily put another 200-300lbs into it. The part you have to worry about is getting it up the stairs!
I had to leave my safe downstairs on the sidewalk for about 30 minutes while I was waiting for more muscle to show up, if you have to leave it sitting outside for a little while make sure to cover it with a blanket so the whole neighborhood doesn't see what you just bought.

570lb is about three guys standing aweful tightly.

I think that most modern buildings can handle that.

But still, I wouldn't place it upstairs. Just think about the poor sap sleeping directly underneath the safe.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

I know people who have 1/2 ton fish tanks on a second story... You can look up the building code and see what the max lb/sq feet is and calculate it.

Water weighs alot, I think people totally forget about that.
One gallon of water weighs approximately 8.35 lbs.
A 50 gallon aquarium weighs in at about 417.5 lbs.
And there's some people with 100 gallon aquariums.

570lbs + (at least) 150 lbs of guns (three of my guns have a combined weight of over 100lbs) + any other extras will weigh less than a water bed. If you dont feel super comfortable with it, you can always distribute the load a bit by placing a sheet or partial sheet of 3/4" plywood under it.

Maybe just ask this question: Would you be perfectly comfortable sitting on the first floor directly under the safe on the second floor? Would you be comfortable in all circumstances (quakes, etc.) having your kids or wife sitting under it? If not don't do it. Simple.

You need 2 safes, one for all of your guns and a small-digital safe for your HD guns secured by your bed side.
