    Custom ear plugs

I was at Field Time sports and training in Stanton today. Nice fathers day event they got going on over there. Its going on the whole weekend. A few vendors were there, but there was one in particular I was interested in. I picked up a pair of custom fitted ear buds and they are seriously awesome!
Basically he injects a molding into your ear then just pulls it out and rounds everything off. They work great while shooting and work even better than my Howard Leights. They also have bluetooth and other audio solutions. Anyway check them out!

These are extremely secure in your ear once you put them on properly. It takes a few tries but once you learn the "twist in" and "twist out" technique, its really easy.

These probably work good for other things beside shooting I'm told. I've always hated wearing the clunky headphone type, and hated even more the little stupid foam ones.

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with this vendor, just wanted to share my purchase.

Oh they also had a vendor in the corner selling factory 5.56 for 9.50 a box of 20! No limit!!!
    Have a good day!

Ear Defenders (Keith Baker) does plugs as well. Same process.
He's an avid trap shooter who also frequents motorcycle events many motorcyclists use them as well.
He's central coast. Comes to kingsburg for competitions and to Fresno twice a twice a year to the BMW motorcycle shop on Clovis Ave. for earplug sales.

I've always been curious about these but have never personally known anyone that has a pair.

My bad, it is 65, or 70 with a lanyard, plus tax. They aren't cheap but I have other uses for them too making them pretty worthwhile to me. Motorcycle, surfing, operating heavy machinery.. they aren't flimsy either, they appear made to last a long time. Also chances are one of his beautiful assistants will be doing the fitting

Looks like chewed up gum, probaly work as well, minus the clean up. I would gladly test a pair of "Big Ear".

I have 3 pair from Ear Defenders. 2 for shooting, 1 for motorcycle riding.
I have "vent tubes" in my motorcycle plugs to equalize pressure and to allow some noise in to avoid being distracted by the sound of my breathing or hearing my whiskers brush against the helmet. (They work that well).
                I think Baker charges 50.
My oldest pair is about 5 years old and holding up well.

I see people making those type of custom ear plugs at every gun show. Always wanted a pair, but felt kinda weird since people walk by starring at you while your on display sitting there letting it dry haha.

Might have to get a set one day. The ear muffs start to get annoying after awhile. Especially when it's hot and you sweat.

A small price to pay when your hearing is concerned. I have two pairs since 2006 and use them daily riding my motorcycle and also at the range. Yes they do start to tear after years of use but I would not hesitate to buy more when the time comes. There are vendors at most gun shows and motorcycle shows.

That's cheap. Mine were $100(molds done at the dr's office, sent off to westone to get made into plugs, and they're on file for a couple years for easy re-ordering). Best investment into equipment for shooting that I've made. They're more comfortable than the rubber flanged plugs. They're easier to insert than foam plugs. They can't get the seal broken by shooting glasses of a stock bumping them like earmuffs. I can wear them for hours at a time without feeling like I've got something shoved into my ears causing any pressure, nor do they get annoying if it's hot outside(you know what I mean by that annoying gross sweaty feeling). If I want some more protection, I just put my earmuffs on over 'em.

The radians do it yourself at home kit sucks. I tried 'em, waste of money.

I have been looking at these and thinking about getting me some. How are these compared to regular muffs or plugs.
