Alright, ive had it with this ****

    Dear Hollywood/ Urban TV Studios.

I realize most of us out here in flyover country appear to be backward hicks compared to you socially evolved, super progressive folk in the cities. Fair enough.

That being said, we are not stupid enough to register our firearms.

I made it ten minutes into the show "Longmire" and the Wyoming county Sheriff is asking his deputy to research if a murder victim "had any other guns, registered or not, in his possession." While many things these days seem to be up to personal opinion, geography is not one of them. Neither is the law, and Wyoming's location in the United States means it does not practice nor has ever enacted statewide firearm registration.

While Longmire may be the latest offender in this regard, it is by no means the only show to claim a free state practices the barbaric practice of state gun registration.

A film which claims it-or any other state of similar alignment- does thus represents a grave cultural faux pas, one of greater magnitude then depicting a gay marriage in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

Signed, a vet from a state which doesn't register anyone's arms.

    +1.

I'm also getting tired of all the TV shows and movies depicting us vets as "crazy" and "mentally defective". It's gotten to the point where as soon as I hear anything along those lines I immediately switch channels or turn off the tv.

But if they didn't show cops running serial numbers for registered guns they would have to show the actual work of calling the manufacturer and finding what distributor sold that gun to what retailer, then going to the retailer and sifting through pages upon pages of their bound book. That is definitely not as exciting as "run it through NCTU, DND, FAT, InterSNOOT and CADBEER registries STAT!!"

Hollywood has a long history of demonizing guns while glorifying their use. Jeremy Clarkson, host of Top Gear on BBC, had Simon Pegg as a guest while promoting Pegg's then-new movie "Hot Fuzz". One of them stated that bad guy films were much more popular in the UK than cop films because bad guy films had guns. That says a lot about people in general- they want the power that comes with the ability to defend oneself, but don't trust their fellow man to be responsible enough to wield the same power. So, they default to a nanny-government mentality.

Hollywood should be censored by a Bloomberg type committee,
if Hollywood elites want to demonize guns let them toe the line

Not as bad as an episode of "The Glades" where the lead detective is walking in the prison yard among all the convicts strolling through talking to one all with his automatic holstered on his side.

Talk about stupid oversight on the part of the show.
