You can sell it and get a stripped lower or an 80% for about $150 and then use the rest of the money for whatever you want. That way have the money and have secured an AR in the future if anything happens.

Handguns will ALWAYS be available as per the Heller siting that handguns cannot be banned. The AR 15 is a different story, and after yesterdays shooting in Santa Monica, expect all new gun legislation to pass.
