RANT: Palmetto State Armory (PSA). Well, a small rant.

Not a huge rant, but kinda unhappy right now.

On Friday I ordered a LPK from PSA's website.

Almost immediately after I placed the order, I realized I want to add something else to my order.

I called, and got the voicemail. Said that they were closed until Monday.

I emailed. Included the order number and what I wanted to add.

Policy response today was "we can't amend an order once it's been processed".

I said "you'd rather I cancel my order?" No response from them, just silence.

All I wanted to do was to add something to my order, just to save on the shipping. I find it unreasonable that they won't make these kinds of updates/changes.

I dislike poor customer service. I hope that this is my only experience with them on this issue.

It's your own fault, don't blame the store.
Employee is following the company policy.

I would have amended it if I had the authority to. Whoever you were speaking with was probably a lower end support service provider. I'm sure if you went up a few levels of command, they would have handled it smoothly.

Those are really the only two options: complain to see manager or bite the bullet and order again.

Yup, they did the same to me..They make a fine product, I should of cancelled my order and started fresh. I'm still ticked about it but I couldn't wait.

I just wish they had more ammo in stock when I ordered my lower parts build kit over Memorial day (free shipping).

I ordered 2 LPK, and confirmed it. I later went back and wanted to add the BlackHawk buffer tube and stock assembly after the fact. I called, they said they can't due to how their system is, I explained I wanted to save on shipping, and the custom service agent offered to refund me $7 on my first order to balance out the second. Just be polite, explain that you just purchased something, wanted to combine the shipping, and ask, "can you do anything?" Be polite.

Have had very good success with Palmetto overall, sometimes getting things shipped the next day.

I recently ordered an upper assembly that happened to be in stock. As the clock ticked, there was no sign of the order being processed, but I had an overseas trip to make. I contacted PSA via email and asked them to please hold the order for a week, just in case it happened to be shipped while I was gone.

Got a reply that once the order was submitted, they had no control over it, but considering their current lead times I would most likely be safe. Of course, the next day I got an email saying the order was being processed, and the expected shipping time would hit right in the middle of the week I was out of the country.

I just created an account at UPS and changed the delivery to a will call. It did arrive while I was gone, but I went to pick it up the following week upon my return.

All I can guess is the PSA is pretty darn busy and probably not over staffed. Looking back at the 30+ day processing and shipping from them, things could be worse. I've also ordered something, then remembered another item and placed another order right away. Both were shipped in the same box.

                      ^ This.

Sorry, but I just can't see the situation as explained as "poor customer service."

Unless there is something egregious going on, these whiny little posts are utterly pointless. You messed up. There system is what it is. Get over it.

OP makes a mistake, expects retailer to fix it, retailer says "no", OP complains about the retailer not fixing the OPs mistake...

How is this a PSA problem?

That's awesome, and pretty much exactly what I wanted. Don't know why they didn't offer it. Hmmm....

                              No.

I expect a retailer will do what I have done in sales, and that's try to accommodate the customer. I wasn't asking for the moon and the stars, just to add something to my order.

So, I will be cancelling my original order, and re-ordering with the additional stuff I want.

Which is more trouble? As a salesman, I never want the customer to have more trouble. Makes them less likely to do business again. YMMV
