Gifting my two year old my EBR's...

Is there any way to gift my year old my rifles, just in case these assault rifle registration laws pass? I would rather they be registered under his name so he can get a lifetime of use out of them.

Yeah, you just hand them to him. They aren't registered to you, and as a parent you're allowed to gift long guns to your kids without any paperwork. See the CGF wiki page on intrafamilial transfers.

Currently, it is legal for a grandparent/parent to transfer a rifle/shotgun/other to their child/grandchild without needing document the transfer.
There is no minimum age requirement for the child/grandchild.

Starting 01-01-2014, a grandparent/parent can legally transfer a rifle/shotgun/other to their child/grandchild, as long as the child/grandchild is 18 years or older and the child/grandchild reports the transfer to CA DOJ within 30 days of receiving the firearm.

I built a few 80% lowers with my 2 year old sons name as the model, and his birthday as the serial number.

Hopefully he can still have them one day. Little worried about all these new bans coming into play.

So if this assault rifle registration happens can I register them under his name?

I don't think the geniuses in Sacramento have figured that out yet.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Gifted on paper ARs to daughters and Grandkids, get stored in my safe for now so they can be exercised from time to time!

Nice thought but as Librarian alluded to, if SB374, as written, passes, no, your kids won't even be able to legally posses a Ruger 10/22, much less an AR or AK.

Call your Senator and Legislators and let them know that what they are doing is wrong and that you disagree with them taking away not only your 2A rights, but your children's as well.

I know from personal experience that an assault weapon can be registered to more than one person at the same time. They have to qualify in the usual ways, i.e. age, criminal history etc.

and you always have the gun trust route...

I'm in the same boat.. to build an 80.. u build it for yourself.. can't build with intent for others..

an 80 .. that you built 5 years ago and now you have kids... you can go ahead and engrave whatever you want.. and it's theirs.. maybe they helped tighten the clamp and pushed the button and you have video to prove it..

but the burden doesn't lay on you to prove such.. it lays on the state to prove otherwise.. so be careful of your social media.I'm thinking of just buying some proper lowers so i don't have to worry about that headache..

but i don't see prices comming down especially with this 2014 crqap...

these legislatures need to be tared and feathered and ran out of this state.. it is sad times our children are in.. the straw is getting heavy.
