    Letter From LAPD

I received a letter from the LAPD this afternoon saying they have property that I am entitled to in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department. A 2nd page says a firearm to which I am entitled to is in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department and it may be claimed before 11/25/2013. Please call 818-xxx-xxxx. Do you guys think it could be legit?. I have sold some guns on here but they have all been local in the Modesto/Turlock area

do a Google search of the phone number and it'll tell you if its a common scam.

I was contacted by inglewood PD once, they had a .45 that I had once owned. Long before PPT's were required I sold it (STUPID), and they had taken it from a suspect that tried to shoot a cop with it.

They wanted to know if it had been stolen...

Have you sold guns that were not transferred via PPT? Ever had a gun stolen, lost?

Thre is noooooo way that they may have a gun that is either rightfully yours or was not properly transferred after you sold it!!!!!!

They are out to get you, run, hide, move, lock your doors, don't talk to the police !!!!!!! Ever!!!!!!!!

Lol well if they wanted.to come after you, they obviously already know where.to.find you. I'd give.them.a.call and retrieve a new toy to add to your.collection.

I would go claim the gun and then contact the guy you sold if to to see if it was stolen.
If it turns out it was stolen, he will probably be glad to hear from you.
Then have him ppt the gun from you properly...

What year did ppt became mandatory in California? I noticed how some of you posted that you sold a firearm before a ppt was needed, were the sales made at a gun show? Just curious.
