    Do you carry.....

I had an interesting conversation the other day with a friend who works in LE in another state.

We were discussing CA's asinine restrictions on CCW and specifically those in Santa Clara County where one cannot carry unless you happen to be FOSS (friends of Sheriff Smith).

He wondered how many otherwise law-abiding citizens carry anyway in places where they cannot attain a permit.

    So....out of curiosity, here's a little poll.

I'd avoid answering the critical question in the form of a reply to avoid inquiry from prying eyes.

Yes, that is the question. The poll is set to not show who voted for what so as long as anyone doesn't blab in the replies their response is discreet.

I hope people don't illegally carry, but I can see why they would. I wish California was more than a patchwork of counties that do and do not. Remember to take your voting responsibilities seriously.

Every law-abiding gun owner in San Bernardino County should become a CCW holder. Its legally possible in that county to obtain a CCW.

I too live in Santa Clara county. As far as I know, our CLEO smith won't even issue applications! Or accept completed applications.

And no, I never carry. I am too young and good looking to go to prison. IF we are ever able to get a LTC, I will carry whenever possible!
            Sorry, not sorry.

Why would you go to prison for carrying a firearm that legally belongs to you ... Unless your commiting a crime or trying to walk into the capital building with it it won't result in jail time ...

You have Forgotten one Important Option: "I stand on the 5th"... Why would one supply these type of figures on the Internet?

                      (Snip)

CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON charge - Penal Code Section 12025 or P.C. 12025 states in part - (a) A person is guilty of carrying a concealed firearm when he or she does any of the following: (1) Carries concealed within any vehicle which is under his or her control or direction any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person. (2) Carries concealed upon his or her person any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person. (3) Causes to be carried concealed within any vehicle in which he or she is an occupant any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person.
Carrying a Concealed Weapon can be charged as a MISDEMEANOR or a FELONY. Generally, a misdemeanor conviction can carry a jail sentence of up to 1 year in county jail...

County jail, prison, as far as I am concerned either is not a place I want to be, nor would I want to give the overlords any reason to take away my rights!

I do not commit crimes. I do my best to stay away from all government buildings unless absolutely necessary.

BTW, are you an attorney? Can you guarantee that I would not go to jail for carrying a concealed weapon if I were not otherwise committing a crime or entering a government building? If not, then please, don't make incorrect legal statements. Carrying a concealed weapon MAY not result in jail time, but I am not willing to risk up to a year in jail for a misdemeanor. Are you?
                      Sorry, not sorry.

Can you please post a link to a case or a post where a law abiding citizen spent time in jail for violation of this PC? And my statement was a question/statement ...

I carry daily with an extra mag. Lc9/s&w 642/p95, depending on day and location. I live in California capital county, we have great sheriff named Scott Jones who has written out probably 3,000+ ltc now. I believe a large part of the reason was also CGF's efforts to shine the light on that slug Sheriff MCguimess lack of lawful application of shall issue.

But yes, I carry legally. To ask people if they carry illegally is retarded at best.
