Newton 1906

Some friends of mine own an old Newton 1906... Need some info...Does anyone here know this gun or own one? It's a .30-06, and there are some letters on the barrel that start with RIA.

no cigar. I am looking for a part, to be more specific. No luck with Brownells or GPC

I have a .256 Newton and I don't believe there are parts avail. These guns, while very well made, never caught on and many of the orig chamberings are no longer avail commercially. The only way I know of to get parts is to buy a gunker and cannibalize or find a really good gunsmith that can reproduce parts for you.

I have the book that is referenced above, it is concidered the authority on the subject. I will look for it this weekend and see if it will provide any other help.
