I picked up a plano cheap-o at Big 5 a year or so ago.
The lid came off of it - apparently I set it down at an angle it didn't like.

I was at Ammo Bros about a month ago or so and finally they were getting in ammo and more hardened gun cases. I asked about the Pelican 1750 and it was $219. Went back there about 3wks later and asked again to make sure and same price I heard right, $219. The 1750 I think if heavier in weight than the Plano.
I assume the Plano model is TSA approved so you can use two padlocks? Good ones too.

I just purchased a Pelican Strorm Rifle Case im3300 from Midway for $194.99 plus $25 shipping (no sale tax). The best Opticsplanet could do was $235, with free shipping and no sales tax. It is in Midway's June sale flyer, which is good through the month of June.
