I just bought a sure fire brake and would like to get it installed on my LMT MWSE .308. Does someone In the bay do installs? I want to make sure I install it correctly and is timed correct. Thanks in advance. And yes I searched but maybe I just suck at it. Sorry if its been asked.

This was my exact problem as well. I could have done it, but I didn't have a vise block. They'll go it for like $20 or something, quick and easyOriginally posted by KestryllThis guy is a complete and total idiot.

You don't need a vise block to install a brake. If you have an armory tool or the right size wrench and carpeted floors or rug that's all you need. Put an empty mag in your gun and start threading your brake by hand with your crush washer installed. Lay the gun on the floor with the mag turned towards you. Put your knee or foot on the receiver (cover it if you have to with somthing so you don't hurt your knee or if you think your going to hurt your gun) and turn the brake with the wrench until its in the desired location. You don't have to turn it until its tight just a couple of times until its timed correctly. Timing the brake is a matter of preference depending on what type of shooting your going to do and/or if your right or left handed. You may want it straight up and down if your just doing bench shooting. In this case just pick a reference point on the gun and brake and make sure they line up. That's it.

I can do it, I'm in San Jose and I have the correct vise blocks. There are 3 kinds of people in this world.

PM'ed!
Thanks everyone for the help! Reason I don't want to try is because I only paid 2400+ and 6 months for it to get here. That was before the crazies took over. I just want to keep my investment in as good of a condition as possible. She's a bit of a safe queen, I'll admit it. But I have shot her at 2 competitions do far.Comment
