What's the best (or worst depending on POV) impulse buy you've made?

I went to an LGS today for a PPT, and ended up also purchasing a LaRue Tactical PredatAR 5.56 that had just been dropped off by the UPS guy.

Got a brand new REPR for $2500, good impulse buy, I had ditched school too. I woke up, checked gunsamerica, gun was on the front page, MINE

Worst impulse buy XD-45.

Worst: PPT purchased a Phoneix arms HP22 and bought a HiPoint C9 the same week. Those were the early days......

Most painful gun i have ever shot.

Best impulse buy so far has been my S&W 637 Performance Center, quickly became my favorite carry gun and now I never leave home without it.

Worst impulse buy was a Ruger LC9, probably the worst piece of trash carry gun I have ever owned.

I accidentally bought a box of 7.62x39 for my Mosin Nagant, so I told the cashier to fetch me an SKS to go with the ammo.

Best: My first M1 Garand (sold now to finance a higher grade M1 Garand + ammo).

Best: Pre-crossbolt Marlin 336 in .30-30. I drove all the way home, sat in the driveway for a minute and then drove all the way back to the store and damn near shouted "I'll take it!" The gun was a hell of a shooter. Wish I had realized what I was giving up when I stupidly sold it.

Worst: Probably the Walther P22. I had money burning a hole in my pocket and didn't really look into what I was buying. 'Twas a jam-o-matic and had a knack for tossing hot brass down my fiance's shirt when it did fire.. so it didn't last long in the safe.

most recent 'best impulse buy' is a lnib (one 10 round mag) Gen 2 G17 (1992) from my lgs. the Glock was on my list, but the actual purchase was an impulse buy. walked into Bain and Davis looking to buy a box or two of ammo, saw the G17 and couldn't walk away. it was an especially satisfactory purchase for me, in that i already had some goodies saved from a G17 i sold many years ago.

Strangely enough, my Draco might be my best and worst at the same time. It's of the coolest little guns I own, and also the most pointless.
