Glock 34 and 35 conversion.

Has any one converted Glock 34 or 35 from .40 SW to 9mm or from 9mm to .40SW? What do you have to do except buying a new barrel? Do I need to buy a new slide?

Any thoughts about which one is better for IPSC shooting?

I believe you need a different slide as the breachface is different between 9mm and .40. (.40 works with 9mm but 9mm doesnt work with .40)

To convert between .357 sig and .40 you just need a barrel IIRC

I could just be talking out my hind end so take it for what its worth.

well I havn't done it in a g35 but in my g22 I can shoot .40,.357 sig and 9mm
barrel change is all that needs to be done and obviously a 9mm magazine for the 9mm barrel.

Glock 34/35

Someone told me that to convert 34 9mm to .40 you will need a new slide, barrel and mag. But I saw a person selling a G35 with the a 9mm barrel and a set of new 9mm mag.

I am thinking of buying a G34 but if all I have to do is to buy a barrel and mag to convert to 9mm then I think this is the way to go. I do not want to spend more money in buying an extra slide if you know what I mean.

G34 and G35 are both the same price but I was leaning towards the G34 because recovery shots are much faster for IPSC type shooting not to mention ammo are cheaper.

If you are going to stay in the Production class, you should stay with the 34. There's no bonus for shooting major ( 0.40 caliber and up) in Production class. And yes, ammo is cheaper.

Thanks....Yes I am thinking of staying in the production class. I am starting in this sport and I know it will cost me some serious $$$$$ for ammo to get good. I figure why spend the $$$$ on .40 but if for a reasonable amount I can convert G35 to shoot 9mm then I am open.

1) Get a G35.

2) Buy a Storm Lake Barrel for $98 (G35 9mm conversion)http://www.topglock.com/catalog/barrels_stormlake.htm

3) Get some glock 9mm magazines, ie. G17 magazines

PS. you cannot be in IPSC/USPSA "production" class if you use an aftermarket conversion tho; so, for fun, the above route will work..... for the match, u would need to actually get a G34 to shoot production/9mm

if your going to shoot 9mm in competition then get the 34. without an extractor change once in a blue moon you will have a fte with the conversion. thats not something you want when time is a factor even though it rarely happens.

I wouldn't say that.... minor with .40 is veeeeery soft
180gr@700fps is all you need.

But yes, it will be somewhat more expensive than shooting 9mm

Don't do it. My G35 has been very reliable...until I picked up a Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel. Stove pipes galore.

There's a reason why stock rocks.

It's a good way to get good at clearing malfunctions though!

lone wolf chambers are tighter. there are other barrel makers out there.
