    Used rifle question...

So I bought a Rifle, Howa 1500 Stainless in 308 with boyd pepper stock about 2 months ago... It looks beautiful, the guy I got it from is a sheriff, and he gave me (what I believe to be) a great deal...

It has been in a safe locked up. I am wanting to go shoot it. Should I strip it and clean it first? He said it only had about 20 rounds through it and that he cleaned it. He also gave me the bore guide.
