    Freedom Munitions

Freedom Munitions had their 1,000,000 rounds of 9mm event last week. Didn't really need more 9mm but hey, good price, good ammo, good company... i couldn't stop myself from buying a little more

I didn't go for it...thought the price was too expensive for reloads.

I went for it as well, still waiting for mine.

Wish they'd stop sponsoring and donating stuff and make ammo available at their older prices.

it's because of their sponsorships and donations that i was willing to pay a few cents more per round then what is reasonable for a reload.

On that same day they were selling the 1,000,000 rounds of 9mm reloads, they also were selling a much smaller amount of 9mm new in quantities of 500 for only $5.00 more that the reloads so I bought new but have yet to receive them. Sent FreedomMunitions an e-mail this morning.

You can't really say that $200 for 500 rounds was a "good price" when less than a year ago they were selling 1,000 rounds for $170. The only thing good about the sale was that they had ammo to sell. Prices definitely blew.

With all the ammo taxes, ammo background checks, and ammo permits coming, I don't think prices will ever go back to 'normal' in CA.

We all have two options when it comes to ammo prices:

                    1. look back a year ago and bemoan how much ammo prices have gone up
                    2. look back 6 months ago and rejoice in how much ammo prices have gone down.

So yes, on a long enough timeline these prices aren't good but compared to even 3 months ago they're very reasonable.

LOL! I used to pay 30 cents a gallon for gas. Those days are gone.

And as long as we meekly accept the price increases and keep paying the higher costs, the ammo and distribution companies will have no incentive to bring the costs back down to a reasonable level (a single mag full of Freedom 9mm reloads is $4 at current prices). If the market will bear it, the the product sources will charge it.

Seriously. When was the last time you saw a company reduce prices on a product when they know that it will sell at a higher price? Keeping quiet about the increases is exactly what we are teaching the ammo companies. Many companies have raised prices because of their difficulty in finding stock. But once the Panic ends, do you honestly believe that they will drop their prices without first experiencing outrage from the buying public? I'm sure Freedom isn't gouging with this recent 1,000,000 round availability, but they need to be told that we pay it only because we understand that the current situation justifies it.

Not attacking you personally, but your suggestion that we "rejoice" is kind of like saying, "Yeah, sure, you're getting raped in the shower. But you should at least be happy that you are getting laid."

wish they shipped quicker. I'm not sure why/how they did not expect a large amount of orders, but now say turn around is 2-3 weeks to ensure they have enough time to insoect, pack and ship the ammo. I would think the ammo was inspected after reloaded, then have a seperate department to pack it securely then send it off. if I knew the 2-3 week turn around I would've passed. and a couple of days after I passed on Winchester that ended up only being $20 more for 500, but shipped out right away. I would've been glad to pay $20 for factory ammo and shipped right away.
