Les Baer Ultimate Master, NP3. YES or NO?

So I sold My previous LB Premier II and got the Ultimate Master. Lovve the details such as high undercut, trigger guard checkering, etc.

No finish issues yet, it's like new.

What's your take on NP3 for it? I've had it before on a 1911. It has a greenish cast.

    Yes or No?

It's yours, what do you want to do?

I hard chromed a Sig years ago after the crappy factory finish basically wiped off, I have never looked back, but they make more Sigs than Bears.

What are the advantages of the finish? Looks, durability, etc?

Yes, Not asking for anyone's permission. It is indeed mine and goes w/o question. Im asking opines about the finish. I already know its characteristics.

Robar's website has more info if you want.

No, I didn't mean that, not at all. I mean GO FOR IT, life's far too short. I didn't think you were asking permission, but my vote is go for it.

I've heard of and read of Np3, I just have never handled anything that was treated.

The NP3 is slick. I have it on the guide rod, barrel, and locking block of my Berretta PX4. It makes it easy to clean and operates smoother, but it's very slick, so I could imagine that places that you need a good grip on might become slippery.

Why don't you shoot the hell out of it. When it needs to be refinished, buy ammo instead.

So my recommendation would be "no"

Buyer of ERDept's Premier II - loving the pistol.

My thoughts are that if you have the ultimate master (the pinnacle of Baers), why change it?

Would you buy a brand new Ferrari 458 Italia in classic red, and paint it over in a more durable finish right away? Why not have fun with it, and when it's marred and worn in, then send in out for np3? That way, you get a brand new looking pistol again!

                Aaron,

Nice to talk to you again. I hope you're liking the gun.

My first mod on this was that same spring plug you have.

It's at Alan Tanaka's for a trigger job. He had done others in the past, and his work is A1, plus you walk into his machine shop which is always cool and have a little talk.

Im soo picky about my triggers.

Im going to tel you something terrible, I've decided to refinish it, once the trigger is done.

                NP3 it is.

After you get it back, I would love to see it. Maybe I'll refinish the Custom Carry to make it more "carry friendly".

Where did you refinish and how much? You can Pm me

As said earlier, shoot the snot out of it and when it starts to look ragged get it NP3+ refinished. It will look really sharp. You paid for the finish you have so you might as well use it.
