    HK P7 M10

Will someone tell me why these 40sw versions of the P7 sell for over $3000 compared to the M8 version which sells below half of the cost of the 40sw.

Did they only make like, 10 of them.

At that price range i doubt i will ever get to own one.

Its more than the most expensive 1911s ive seen.

I want one but ive run out of little sisters to sell.

iirc, they only imported ~3000 into the country... or something like that.

There were not that many made.
Production started in 1991 and they were discontinued in 1994.

Like with all H&K P7 series pistols, they seem to rise in price as the years go by due to supply/demand economics.

At $3000, it's about twice what it was selling for in the early-90s.

            Let's see...

            It's rare...

            It's desirable...

            It's HK...

            = $3000

            Seems normal to me.

They only made 10 or 11 of the .45 version of the HK P7 series. Now those are worth their weight in gold and then some.

As the others have said, not many made and those that have them tend to keep them. Plus they are not on the CA roster of approved handguns for sale. You have to find one in CA to do a private party transfer.

The P7 series has several variants: PSP, M8, M10, M13, with the PSP and M8 as the most mass produced and available in America.

Due to the larger supply of the PSP and M8, their prices tend ot be a little lower.

Because of the lower production and importation of the M10 and M13, and that they are both discontinued, their prices increase significantly due to their rarity and supply and demand.

Even the specialty P7M8s (like the Jubilee) have very high values now.

I sold my LNIB P7M10 last year (see trader rating). I just don't seem to want to keep guns that I don't-won't-can't shoot. P series are great looking and the M10 I sold belonged in a collectors safe, not mine. Plus they are a bit of an oddity, really too large for most folk to want to shoot or carry.

                        correction

I said there are about 10-11 of the P7 in .45acp. looks like the actuall number is more like 6 (I checked several sources). The model was designated P7M7.

I sold a P7M13 a few years ago, just too damm big for my hand, especially with that grip. Replaced it with an M8 and never looked back. Great guns.

The P7M10 was a contract gun for HK to sell to the Mexican elite police and EP. They signed an initial number with the intent to purchase allot more. As many companies used to do to make a product popular; they placed some on the market for retail sales in the US. well the Mexicans walked away from the larger order and HK didnt see a reason to produce the pistol for retail sales. HK doesnt like to produce products simply for retail civilian sales they want LE of Mil customers in a line in order to produce products.
P7M8's and PSP's both had longterm LE/Mil contracts so that is why you see these cheaper.
