A while back I acquired a handgun from a co-workers dad (co-worker was not a gun person) and it never was transferred into my name. I have lost touch with my co-worker and know want to sell the gun to help fund another gun. Can I just go down and have it put into my name on my on in order to sell it, or better yet can it just be transferred right into the new buyers name? I have heard that as long as the gun the gun checks out (not stolen) they don't care where it came from and are more concerned on where its going. Any help would be great...

normally, you can just do a PPT to the buyer and be done. It appears that CADOJ infact doesn't normally care about the past transfer history of the firearm and just wants in back into the system when it goes to the new buyer.A while back I acquired a handgun from a co-workers dad (co-worker was not a gun person) and it never was transferred into my name.
