    Lower vs Lower

So this is what I see these days...can you come up with a better deal?

A good 80% lower is going to cost me 250.00 after I make it 100% and anodized.
A good stripped lower after shipping and fees is going to cost me 220.00.

These are lowers I can get now, no waiting..

I'm thinking just buy a new Bushmaster for a grand and be done with it. I do like the idea of no numbers tho.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

The is where things start to go gray for me..if said 80% was mil spec, bead blasted and shipped then I would say yes at 175.00 ..

Brothers, for me its scary when too many have their hands on it. I guess I'm just being blind to the fact.

The Paper Pimp, don't you feel a 100%, 80% lower is worth more these days?

I'm just throwing this stiff out there, brothers. It seems building these days is costly.

You all have a good weekend

You could buy a 100% lower and be done with it. I've seen them at Turners on sale for 129-149 plus ... tax, dros, 10 day wait. You wanna give your money in taxes and fees to the same government that wants to take your guns away ??

You could buy an 80% and have it custom engraved with whatever you want. Then you have it machined,
and you can cerakote it, or anodize it, however you want it.

That's the real difference in the lowers...one is YOURS that YOU created.
The other is one that someone else created.

And check out the billet Quentin defense lowers....$105 for a 80%, add $5 for black. So...105+ engrave+machine+anodize
You need to really dig around to get the best price you find for these services, and how complex the engraving is.

Your gonna have to wait a few weeks for it, that gives you time to get all the other parts together, figure out your engravings, have it machined and coated, and then put it all together.

Fact is....you can go buy an AR sitting on a shelf in a store... anyone can.
But, you can build yourself a totally custom gun in a few weeks with proper planning and doing some extra leg work, and being patient.

My AA 80% started bare for $84, $40 for engraving, $60 to machine , $40 for anodize. It took me 3-4 weeks to get all that crap done....but it's all mine.
AND, it's EXACTLY how I want it be.

Yeah, Im doing an 80% build now, should be done on Thursday and its looking to be a winner.

RTE, I was at Turners in December buying a Henry rifle for my son. I had no idea what a lower was back then but the place went crazy in a matter of seconds. I guess they found a pallet of Anderson lowers and wanted 79.00 pop for em. Mind you this was at the peak of panic. Kind of wish I would have bought 4 of them at the time..

So I went to Turners today and they have the S&W lower for 159.00...I can still get the 80% for 179.00...After its all said and done they are going to cost the same when you throw in all the fees. My thing is do I want a paper trail or not want a paper trail..When I get stopped by LE or RO and they don't see numbers (I have no markings on my lower other then fire/safe) I'm not sure if the paper trail will help
