I picked up my Remington 597 today from Dicks and was told they have 22LR ammo for sale. I bought 3 boxes of American eagle 2.99 each. I also bought three boxes of Remington viper, 100 count for 10.00 a box. I went a chart to see the specs for all the different brands of 22 I own. I was looking for the weight on the american eagle and it said 40 rim fire cartridges. What? 40, never heard of such a thing. I thought I was buying 50 rounds. Is it common for 22 LR to come in 40 round count boxes? They are 38 grain copper plated hollow point.

It's always been 40 for AE 22lr. Not sure why it's a burn...it's right on the box. Just like there are bricks of 333, 400, 500, 525, etc. And self-defense rounds come in boxes or 20, 25, 50, etc. Ammo comes in all size boxes...just read what's on the box.
