did my normal "swing by walmart" just in case... Looky looky Ive got Hooky there are 4 boxes of 45acp... 50 rounds $19. Now, while at the register, the lady who was very helpful and super nice (said to call her mornings and she would let me know what was coming each day at what time) said that the ammo I was buying was a bit dirty PPU 45 auto 230gr ... But since I only have 300 rounds and I assume it cant be any worse than range reloads, I bought it up... Happy guy right here.

On another note... is "dirty ammo" a problem for my 1911? I clean it often.

i stumbled in to the ammo cart today too. went to get a key made and they were throwing some stuff on the shelf. 45-didn't see what brand/count. 12 gauge slugs (i got 3 boxes), 12 gauge federal birdshot, and probably about 20 boxes of tula 223. the guys almost looked shocked when he told me about the 223 and i said no thanks.

i've got 1000+ rounds. its a rarity, but right now i won't buy if i don't need. save some for the idiots who weren't prepared. and if someone buys that tula for $6 and sells it to another idiot who pays $20, so be it.

Hey now, some of us (me), got into the game a little late so no need to call me an idiot. Lol. I might over pay a little but I won't find myself without. I am almost ok with spending this money on ammo. It's getting my wife conditioned to me spending this amount so if prices goback down she won't think anything is amiss when I spend the same amount still. Santee. I work about 2 miles away.

getting in to the game late is fine. picked a bad time, but its fine. i like to laugh at my buddies who thought i was dumb for keeping around 3k of everything. "when i want to go shoot i just run to walmart and get some ammo." now they all call me and ask if i'll sell some. those are the idiots.
