I have a Sig 229 in 357Sig, and I heard of I can convert it to shoot .40S&W, by just swap out the barrel. My question is what is the different between a conversion barrel and a stock .40S&W barrel? Can I just get a stock barrel and be done? Thanks.

You cna use a stock SIG P-229 .40S&W barrel to convert your .357SIG P-229 to shoot .40S&W.
When SIG first released the SIG P-229 in .357SIG, they sold them with an optional .40S&W conversion "kit" (which was just a factory stock .40S&W barrel).
The .357SIG and .40S&W SIG P229 magazines are the same.sigpic
