How do you clean inside your slide rails

I took a hanger wire, cut it, and made a small L-shaped bend out of it to fit inside my slide rails, to clean them

I attach a cleaning pad to it and run it up and down the slide...it does a pretty good job, although the size of the hanger wire is just a bit too wide for some of my smaller guns, my Cheetah and Cougar

Always looking for better ideas to hit the tight spots

Anyone got some suggestions?

Best methods i've found are Q-tips, an old toothbrush and sometimes a quick drying solvent(verify it's safe for your finish).

i use q-tips, if you put a little bit of solvent on there they usually stay together, or an old tooth brush

I usually just cut off half of a q-tip, put solvent, and run it down the rails, works great

I'm lazy, so I use Dunkit (I don't have any plastic guns). Disassemble, drop in the bucket for an hour or so and even the most stubborn crud comes off with just a nylon brush.

I cut my old plastic credit card to a 1/2 inch width.

Fold a patch over the cut credit card.

Apply oil to the patch and run it up and down the rail.

Use new patch if necessary.

My Hoppes kit came with a really narrow patch holder. I just stick a small patch on it, soak it in whatever solvent I am using and run it down the grooves.
